Braces and Invisalign
Our orthodontic team can straighten your teeth painlessly with braces and Invisalign
Are you tired of your crooked or crowded smile? At Gold Coast Dental Riverside, we can straighten your teeth into their correct alignment with orthodontic treatment. Our orthodontists are experts when it comes to painstakingly crafting your perfect smile, never missing a detail throughout your entire months-long treatment.
With orthodontics, we can correct:
- Crooked teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Overbite and underbite
- Other bite misalignment issues
Our two main methods of doing this is with braces and Invisalign. Dental braces use metal brackets, wires, and elastics to tighten your teeth and jaw into their proper alignment. Invisalign treatment instead uses a series of clear trays custom made for your mouth, which gently shift your teeth into place as you switch them out every two weeks. Orthodontic treatment typically takes 12 to 18 months to complete with another year or two for a retainer to ensure your results last you for the rest of your life. A perfect smile doesn’t just look amazing, it feels that way, too. Straighter teeth make it easier for you to keep them clean and healthy, preventing painful and costly dental problems in the future.
Are you ready to straighten your teeth and better your life with Invisalign or braces? Call our Riverside office at (951) 688-6000 to schedule an orthodontic consultation with us today.

Reshaping Your Teeth: Dental Bonding and Veneers
At Gold Coast Dental Riverside, our beautiful tooth bonding and dental veneers can change the total look of your smile in only one or two visits
Two of the most flexible cosmetic procedures we offer at our Riverside office are tooth bonding and porcelain dental veneers. Dental bonding and veneers can: remove stains and discoloration, restore cosmetically cracked or chipped teeth, reshape teeth that are too long, too short, or misshapen, correct slightly crooked teeth, close the space between gapped teeth, repair normal wear and tear. Bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin shaped into place on your teeth to change the appearance of your smile. The composite is applied as needed, affecting as much or as little of your teeth as necessary. Veneers, which are thin porcelain shells attached to your teeth, refurbish your
tooth's entire look, allowing for a greater level of change to be possible. Light shaving of the tooth by about 0.5mm is needed beforehand, however, to prepare your teeth, so your veneer fits smoothly over it. Porcelain veneers are more costly than dental bonding, but they are also much stronger and more resistant to staining. They often last 15 to 20 years before needing replacement, compared to tooth bonding’s 4 to 8. While bonding is shorter-lived than veneers, they also don’t require any intensive preparation beforehand or cause any permanent change to your natural tooth. Do you need help deciding which option is right for you? Please reach out to our cosmetic dentists at (951) 688-6000 to schedule a smile consultation today.
What type of dentist does cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is performed by a cosmetic dentist. A cosmetic dentist is a general dentist who has been extensively trained to perform beautiful-looking aesthetic procedures. Our cosmetic dentists use our expert skill to ensure that no matter your treatment, your dental work always looks natural and puts your best smile forward.
What are the benefits of cosmetic dentistry?
There are many amazing benefits to gain from cosmetic dental work. Besides having a new and improved smile, you can enjoy better self-confidence and boosted self-esteem, improved speech and eating, better oral health, and fewer long-term costs.
What are the different types of dental veneers?
There are 3 main types of dental veneers: composite, porcelain, and Lumineers. Composite requires no preparation beforehand and can be applied directly to the tooth in a single visit. Porcelain veneers need preparation beforehand and take two visits to complete, but they’re also the longest lasting. Lumineers are a special brand of no-prep veneers that are made of porcelain thin enough to require no change to your base tooth’s enamel.
Does shaving your teeth damage them?
When you receive porcelain veneers, shaving your teeth down in preparation does not damage your teeth. Only 0.5mm of your hard enamel will be removed, leaving the soft and sensitive inner dentin and pulp of your teeth completely intact. Shaving your teeth can actually make them healthier by removing any bacteria, plaque, or decay that may be attacking your smile.
What do dentists use instead of amalgam?
Although silver amalgam used to be an extremely popular material for dental fillings, their look and known mercury content have made dental offices reluctant to use them- if they don’t refuse to use them entirely. At our Riverside practice, we use tooth-colored composite resin instead. For patients concerned about the safety of their existing amalgam fillings, we can replace them with totally safe and natural-looking composite.
Is Invisalign as good as braces?
Invisalign clear aligners are just as effective as braces when dealing with light to medium corrective changes. They have the same general timeline of 12 to 18 months, but also have the unique advantages that come with being removable, such as no diet restrictions or special cleaning instructions. For many patients, these benefits make Invisalign better than braces. However, for patients with more severe bite problems, traditional braces are recommended instead.
